Global Trade Tensions

Trade talks between China and the U.S. are progressing, but the bilateral nature of any agreement will undermine the WTO further. A cyber standstill agreement would most likely only cover China and the U.S., making long-standing U.S. allies bigger targets. Once negotiations with China have concluded Trump will have reset relations with most of the largest bilateral deficit countries – leaving the EU and Japan next.
